Key Stage 4 : BTEC Level 2 First Award in Sport

Over the course of two years, boys will complete the following units of work:

  • UNIT 1 - Fitness for Sport & Exercise (Compulsory/External Exam)

  • UNIT 2 - Practical Sports Performance (Internal Assessment)

  • UNIT 3 - Training for Personal Fitness (Internal Assessment)

  • UNIT 5 - The Sports Performer in Action (Internal Assessment)

This course is the equivalent of one GCSE.

Key Stage 5 : BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Sport

Over the course of two years, boys will complete the following units of work:

Year 13

  • UNIT 1 - Anatomy and Physiology

  • UNIT 2 - The Physiology of Fitness

  • UNIT 3 - Assessing Risk in Sport

  • UNIT 11 - Sports Nutrition

  • UNIT 5 - Sports Coaching

  • UNIT 7 - Fitness Testing and Training

  • UNIT 28 - The Athletes Lifestyle

Year 14

All of the above units are internally assessed through he use of assignments and is the equivalent of one GCE A-Level.

Key Stage 5 : BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Sport in Conjunction with IFA

  • UNIT 1 - Anatomy and Physiology

  • UNIT 3 - Assessing Risk in Sport

  • UNIT 4 - Fitness Training & Programming

  • UNIT 11 - Sports Nutrition

  • UNIT 22 - Rules, Regulations & Officiating in Sport

Over the course of two years, boys will complete the following units of work:

Year 13

  • UNIT 5 - Sports Coaching

  • UNIT 2 - The Physiology of Fitness

  • UNIT 7 - Fitness Testing and Training

  • UNIT 8 -Practical Team Sports

  • UNIT 17 - Psychology for Sports Performance

  • UNIT 18 - Sports Injuries

  • UNIT 27 - Technical & Tactical Skills in Sport

  • UNIT 28 - The Athletes Lifestyle

Year 14

All of the above units are internally assessed through the use of assignments and is the equivalent of two GCE A-Levels.

  • Show Racism the Red Card Workshop (1 Hr 30 Mins)

  • OCN Level 2 in Football Business (3 Modules 9 Hours)
